چکیده

In this paper, we study the asymptotic profile of the steady state of a reactiondiffusion-advection model in ecology proposed in [13, 17]. The model describes the population dynamics of a single species experiencing a uni-directional flow. We show the existence of one or more internal transition layers and determine their locations. Such locations can be understood as the upstream invasion limits of the species. It turns out that these invasion limits are connected to the upstream spreading speed of the species and is sometimes subject to the effect of migration from upstream source patches.

Emergence and Dispersion of Resistance Genes by the Aquatic Environment: a review

The association of the emergence of bacterial resistance to clinical environments is common; however, aquatic environments, especially the polluted ones, also play a key role in this regard. Aquatic environments can act as facilitator for the exchange of mobile elements, responsible for resisting antibiotics. They even may stimulate the emergence and selection of these elements through contamin...

Going against the flow: retention, range limits and invasions in advective environments

Increasing globalization has spread invasive marine organisms, but it is not well understood why some species invade more readily than others. It is also poorly understood how species’ range limits are set generally, let alone how anthropogenic climate change may disrupt existing species boundaries. We find a quantitative relationship that determines if a coastal species with a benthic adult st...

Comparison of Seed Bed Preparation Methods on Seedling Emergence Rate in Six Range Species in Khash Rangelands of Iran

This study was conducted to compare the methods of seed bedpreparation in rangelands of Khash region in Sistan and Baluchestan province inIran. A split plot design was conducted based on Randomized complete blockdesign with three replications in 1999. Five seed bed preparation methods wereused as main plot as: 1) Seed sown by passing livestock. 2) Seed sown machinery.3) Seeds sown as drilled in...
